Jess in action WAKO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019

Jess competed in the -70kg Division in ring sports coming away with a win against the USA taking her to the Semi Final Stages, unfortunately after taking a split decision (2 judges to 1) loss, she finished with a Bronze. This was Australia’s first medal of the Week long event and Jess made the whole team proud and inspired. Jess fight was a very close decision with many of the audience and especially Australian Coach Iztok Kese believing Australia had done enough to progress.

Jess was such a important part of the team always working at her 100% in preparation camp in Slovenia where the team was put through 3 sessions daily including Mountain runs to the peak in the beautiful Dolomites of the European Alps at the Slovenian Nordic Olympic Centre of Planica.

Jess never complained and was obvious from her work ethic and improvement over the week that her attitude changed from a participant to a Medal contender. All the coaching team noticed her focus and work ethic and her performance was top notch leaving nothing behind and no regrets.
